I love EVERYTHING!!!! FRESH ICE CREAM my kids definitely loved it. If you are looking for a place to treat your family this is the spot!

did not feel guilty because the burgers are kinda small (not complaining!)

For a small town joint they did their greatest job and I watched them go through lines and very small amount of time great work guys keep it up best Bradenton in right there!

Haven't been here for awhile for geographical reasons. But if it didnt taste the same it was better than I can remember. Fresh to order and great service. Remember your cash and tip those awesome people working here! Thank you!

This place is fun to visit - and the best pineapple coconut milkshakes! It’s been there since 1959 and feels “retro.” They have lots of different foods. Everything we’ve had there so far is tasty and fresh.Most of the seating if outside - right on Manatee Ave- so can be a bit loud. Maybe 8 seats inside. Remember - they only take cash. But there is an ATM there.

Great food for the price (expected to be more pricey based on rumors) especially when I am on the keto diet and only consumed “the beef”🤦🏾‍♂️ it taste like it was fresh not frozen...and the vanilla malt was insanely good...dwn here fir a wedding so I will stop by again before I leave. Great jobs guy 👏🏾

Good food and the time to wait wasn’t bad but i did go on a Sunday which was not as crowded as I usually see it. CASH ONLY which i didn’t notice if that was written anywhere but it should. The small fries is good to share their not stingy and the milkshakes are really thick I couldn’t sip it i used a spoon instead.

What’s not to love? If you’re feeling especially brave and hungry, try the banana split. It’s enormous!

Just went to get a shake and food and had to use the ATM that is “INSIDE” their shop. The ATM said it was giving me cash and nothing came out. When I asked the staff about it I was completely ignored. I asked several times for help and nothing. Will never go here again. Horrible customer service

Whenever we are in town we have to stop by the shake pit for their hard serve chocolate ice cream. Best chocolate ice cream I have ever had. And the prices are awesome!

We have visited Shake Pit for years. The ice cream is wonderful. We have them put our birthdays and other occasions in the sign. Such a fun tradition.

Nice local spot. Cheeseburger and chicken tenders were fresh and tasty. Soft serve for desert was very good here. Would definitely come back.

This place is a throwback to the good ole' days of the 50s&60s! I love places like this that have survived the monsoon of fast food places that pretty much wiped-out these early gems of the "family dining out" experience. The "comfort food's" good and the portions are substantial. Warning! If you're on a low-cal, or vegan diet, you probably won't be very happy here....😋😋😋😀👍

Had and absolutely great time. I took my daughter there for getting good grades at school everyone is nice. And they have great ice cream by the way

Where do I start.. the place is awesome with their food. As for the place itself, I felt like I went back in time a little bit back. Felt nice. Their shakes are delicious, extremely delicious. I had a large butterscotch shake and it was thick. With every sip/bite you could taste the butterscotch and I loved it. The only downside I felt was paying with straight cash and not accepting card. As for their food, I can't comment as I didn't grab anything. But I certainly reccomend their shakes!

This place is like stepping back in time to where a meal was not based on how cheap and fast it can be done. The double cheeseburger with bacon was massive and was cooked to perfection right in front of me. The cheese dripped out the entire time I was eating every delicious bite. The fries were crispy and were also deep fried to a level of goodness that can not merely be described with words and must be experienced in person. It's the best burger you can get in Bradenton and make sure you bring cash because that's your ticket to what you see on the menu!!!Five Stars for Shake Pit!!!

Been there 50+ years! Great staff. Don't let your 5 year old order the pit split by themself....it's huuuge!

Good old time ice cream shop. My oldest son worked there as a teen, 13 years later my youngest sons name on lighted sign for his bday he was super excited. Thanks a buch shake pit.

If you come here make sure you bring cash because you’ll have to wait in a long line just for the lady to tell you she won’t put the order in until you pay her in cash and conveniently they do have an ATM here that I am sure is owned by them which includes a three dollar fee for cash withdrawal unbelievableLast time for me

Paid $5 for a simple ice cream dipped in chocolate.. I thought I was going to pay $2-3 but almost 6 bucks for a cheap ice cream with the same quality as McDonald's is just insane. Definitely last time I'll ever buy from here.

Great cheeseburger and super thick chocolate shake. A little pricey @ $12 for a simple burger and shake but definitely worth it in the end.

I had a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a vanilla coke. Everything was good. My son ordered a banana split and I am positive it would be enough for about four people. A bit pricey for a burger but it was good.

Nostalgic piece of Bradenton history. Great burgers and generous helpings of ice cream. Get a double burger with fries and banana split and you wont need to eat for days! We love sitting at the 50's style counter/stools while watching our burgers being cooked. Its cash only and you wont regret you stopped in.

After driving by this place at least a hundred times, I was in the area with time to kill and of course an appetite... so it was about time to see what the Shake Pit was all about!I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, soda, and a shake...✅ The milkshake 🥤 was sooooo good! (I had the peanut butter and chocolate)✅ The burger was good. Nothing special in my opinion but the shake was worth it.✅ There's plenty of parking.I was a little taken back by the $17.00 total on such a small amount of food... But I'd still go back.

A burger without a cold beer is no burger....as much as this place has history, you are deemed for diabetis instead of a fresh cold draft.

One of the best local sweets stop! Shake Pit gives you one of the best small town/ home town feel when indulging in some greasy foods or sugary sweets. My personal favorite is their Butterscotch Milkshake. You can't go wrong with any of their menu items. The only thing you might have that is unpleasant is a small wait- but it is WORTH IT.

Hey, it's a burger and ice cream joint; very good burgers and ice cream though. Also hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, etc. However it's the people, the staff, who make this a great American experience. What a great bunch; not the faceless drones found at fast food joints. Love 'em all. Also the ice cream. (Black cherry, mmmmmmmm.) And the regulars. That a burger and ice cream joint has regulars says something in itself.
